About Ad Hoc Presentations
|
Lynda's public speaking career began over twenty years ago, as a sophomore in high school, when she was selected as the youngest member of the Mock Trial Team. Her team won the New York State championship in 1987, when she was a Junior. As a Senior, she rose to the position of "senior lawyer" on the team, and received a perfect score every single time she performed her opening presentation. Lynda's love of public speaking continued into college, where she spent three years on the college Debate Team, traveling to different colleges to participate in debate competition on most weekends. She served one year as the team's Vice-President/Tournament Director. For the past twelve years, Lynda has worked as a litigation and trial attorney in New York and Arizona, in both the public and private sectors. Lynda's experience includes over a dozen jury trials, tens of bench trials, oral arguments, depositions, and daily court appearances. Lynda was responsible not only for the actual presentations, but also for their preparation, design, and organization. In addition, Lynda has designed, presented, and taught courses to other attorneys on researching techniques and on effective cross-examinations. As her experience grew, she recognized the need to mentor and teach younger attorneys, and she focused her efforts on helping newer attorneys learn to effectively design and present arguments and trials. Lynda also presented an interactive class on the judicial system to a local high school class as part of their "Law Day" activities. Lynda's public speaking presentations have also extended into the community, including presentations with and for organizations involved in education, cultural exchanges, neighborhood and city issues, and domestic violence. |
